Gematria is an ancient art of assigning a numerical
value to words using linguistic rules. It was originally
performed in either Hebrew or Ancient Greek, where
letters were also used as numerals.
These calculations were traditionally used in
philosophy, theology and mysticism, but they can be used
in any situation where an input of numbers is only
accepted but you want to use it for a word, e.g. an
audible frequency could represent a word.
